Plus, when testing out Hadoop on a local development machine, Hadoop can be configured in "local" mode or "pseudo distributed" mode with each of those using a different filesystem - local uses the OS filesystem while pseudo use an HDFS filesystem.Read More
As a developer, keeping the default Hello World Wordpress post seems to make sense. Over the years, I've built Hello World apps in Lotusscript, Java, .Net, Node.js, Ruby, and even HBase. Of course, Hadoop had to step in and change the model by going with a Word Count app instead of Hello World, but I guess that counts since it's a first application within Hadoop.
